^Local reps should be made aware of state legislation. But, more importantly, do not hesitate to contact them when egregious changes in infrastructure threaten the bikeability of your own area.

I spoke at a city hall open meeting against another Dunkin Donuts drive-thru that was planned for a corner where kids are picked up by bus for school, people visit a church, and this major intersection gets enough traffic, particularly bicyclists. The day before I spoke, a cyclist was hit right there by a utility truck. The zoning board denied the proposal. Area residents are keeping a close eye on this threat to public safety.

Vulnerable Users....

In preparation for action on this Bill we might want to start to organize support.
As listed in the legislation...
Wheelchairs, bicyclist, police, fire, ambulance, construction, walkers...

And one thing that struck hone after my visit to the House floor. Rep. Handy was very excited to introduce each of us to our own Representative. It seems that it might be effective to have each Representative in the House ( and Senate) contacted by a Voter with a personal stake in this action.
